For more than forty years, Sonja Lucien has been painting intuitively and without reservation.  It has sharpened her spiritual abilities and developed a unique, spiritual art in a class of its own.

The spiritual has in recent years made a serious entrance into the art world.  The performance society has put us all under pressure, and spiritual art opens up new avenues where we can rediscover lost parts of ourselves.

Lucien's coloristic and symbolic practice expresses a parallel world that contains sensitivity and strength.  Her paintings invite the viewer on a journey into the universe of the soul, where there is both light and darkness and not least a different reality.

For Lucien, art is a medium through which life can unfold without limitations.

Choosing life as a spiritually-conscious artist is about respecting the soul and the universal spiritual forces that show the way to creation and the self, regardless of external living conditions.

Lucien is a graduate of the Graphic Arts School and Aarhus Art Academy as well as the art academy in Zagreb, Croatia.

She has traveled widely and lived abroad for several years, but is now based in the small, idyllic village Stavreby in Denmark.
